Hi, I’m Lauren Ratliff (soon to be Lauren Allen). It’s quite a blessing to get to be a photographer! My goal as a photographer is to make people comfortable and to capture the precious, fun, beautiful, funny, perfect moments to keep forever.
I’ve been curious about photography since I was 10 and my dad bought me my first camera, the Polaroid…then 35 mm film cameras struck my interest, then SLR cameras, then digital and medium format and large format cameras struck me (and still do) while studying photography at TCU. I currently shoot everything digitally.
I don’t like to pigeon hole myself into one specific field of photography (at least not yet), because I truly enjoy the challenge and art of shooting across various fields of photography. Although, my favorite subject is usually children. There is such an innocence and unexplainable beauty to children, especially in combination with natural light. I’m currently located in Dallas, Texas, but excited and more than willing to travel! I am also getting married to my best friend, Brian Allen, at the end of March 2010, and you can check out our family blog around that time.
